Vancouver designers Barnaby Killam and Stuart Sproule started Red Flag Design in 2004 out of a desire to create products that offered more than just function or style. In reaction to a market saturated with disposable goods, which sacrifices design and quality for mass production, Red Flag Design draws inspiration from discarded materials; their opportunities lie in this waste. The material itself is the starting point for every design, and its physical and historical properties dictate the transformation into the finished product. The challenge of working with these unique materials is what drives the designers creatively. |
