Hajnalka Mandula creates avant-garde fashion from certified organic textiles. When the Hungarian-born, Vancouver-based designer started Mandula ten years ago, her vision was to work with pure, natural materials, and she became one of the first designers to do so. Her environmentally conscious designs incorporate recycled materials and found objects such as rusted skeleton keys, bicycle inner tubes and vintage military finds. Garments are hand-finished to achieve individuality and very high quality. What is striking about Mandula's work is that she stays true to her artistic vision while being sustainable. Mandula opened her debut boutique in Vancouver in August of 2006. |
